Monsters and Guard

By Jonny WS, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

A situation came up in a recent game and thus a discussion ensued.

Situation:
Tahlia has a guard order placed. A master razorwing moves 3 spaces to attack Tahlia. Tahlia uses her guard ability in response to the declaration of the attack from the razorwing and moves 3 spaces away and attacks something else. Razorwing has no other adjacent target to attack.

Question:
Can the master razorwing continue to move and declare another attack since the first one fizzled?

Yes. From the GLoAQ :

"The OL may change his mind after being interrupted. (…) the OL can change his mind after being interrupted, (…) treat it as though you did a little 'rewind' to right before he declared an attack. The OL, after being interrupted after declaring an attack, may choose to continue with the attack, change its target, or even not to make the attack at all."

If you interrupt an Overlord action with a Guard, then the action you interrupted has not happened, and the OL then has an opportunity to change his mind and do something else.

Thank you Antistone.

I was aware of the GLoAQ and that ruling but my playgroup was still questioning things.

I will pass on the news.

Thanks again.

The ruling is correct
