Fighters and being New to this Game so confused

By sillyxander, in WFRP Gamemasters

Hi guys Im new here so I hope that you don't mind if I'm posting something that has already been talked about. I have problems with games that can be crazy with the rules. I bought all the Anima games but can't play them because I can't create a character.

With this game I love the box I love the dice I love the books I'm just a bit overwhelmed with everything.

But my first question or comment is, there's a book for wizards there's a book for priests but where's the stuff for fighters or other classes. Are there other classes, ok yes I haven't read everything but I"m trying. So many games so little time. Any advice on where to start on how to start, let me know I really want to love this game.

thanks

Fighters stuff is in Omens of War.

Nobles/social will be in Lure of Power.

Rogues will probably be after that, as FFG already has a lot of stuff from the thieves product not released for 2e (in my estimation). There is also Liber Fanatica 8, which has additional rogue stuff.

What specifically are you looking for for warrior-types?

It sounds like you're familiar with DnD and it's 4 main classes, and looking for something similar in WFRP that doesn't really exist. There aren't really classes. Players can be all sorts of different characters and the closest you get to 'class' is a career. Careers include wizards and priests, but you should think of these two books as the book of magic - relevant to anyone that uses magic, or works with magicians, and the book of religion - relevant not just to priests but to scholars, 'normal' people who worship the Gods, etc.

Most of the careers don't have their own books because they don't need them. The core rules cover most situations for most types of character, including 'fighters'. (Again, there is no 'fighter class' - anyone can fight, although some do it better than others.) The wizards and priests get extra books with rules and background simply to stop their rules clogging up everything else, when most people aren't going to need them.
