Strange Eons Astrology Resource Cards

By GoblynKing, in WFRP House Rules

One of my PCs is playing an Astromancer in our current campaign. I've restricted access to many of the Azure order spells due to his being an apprentice, not having access to proper research and/or his masters teachings and the fact that I generally like to downplay magic in my version of the Old World. In place of this lack of magical resources I've created these cards which represent various astrological phenomena. It works great in creating a mood and my players love'em!

What do y'all think?

That's really brilliant stuff!

Love the idea! It really makes me think back on the Starsign and Prophecy of Doom flavor of the previous edition. I've been absorbing/seeking any supplements that let me give a better ambience of the situation based on cards and the look of the moon and constellations are great.

What did you use as source material for the moon/constellation descriptions?

A lot of it came from old 2nd Edition material, which would explain it feeling old school. Some came from online Warhammer-pedias of various sorts.

A couple more examples: I usually hand these to the party's Astromancer if he makes a successful Education check to read the stars.

This one is supposed to be called The Gloaming, but I'm having some trouble with the Fonts on my Mac...probably need to update a patch or the like.

If you right-click and "view image" you get a larger format of the image. Let me know if that helps.
