Enemies have Righteous Fury?

By Akishma, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

I know this sounds crazy since Righteous Fury is supposedly the Emperor's Blessing. But the other day a friend pointed out that in the rule book it clearly states that the Attacker gains the Emperor's favor on a natural 10, thus the enmies should also, who ever is attacking that round.

I just wanted to hear what the rest of you thought?

Thanks in advance, Im sure that only the players shpuld rightfully have access to Righteous Fury, but at times it seems that the enemy never can bypass the armor and toughness of the players, a boost would install fear once more in them.

An NPC needs the Trait "Touched by the Fates" to benefit from Righteous Fury. He/she/it also has Fate Points, indicated by a number in parentheses - for example, the Daemon Prince has Touched by the Fates (3) so he benefits from RF and has 3 Fate Points to use against the players.

This is good and bad. Some enemies having access to RF means the players really have to be on their toes, but most of the big baddies that do have it don't need the extra damage to potentially down your typical DW Space Marine in one or two blows, anyway.

I tend to give RF to lowly enemies like mag 9 or less hordes or single mortals with puny mortal guns, representing the off chance to hit a vulnerable spot. It keeps the player's on their toes.

As a House Rule, all opponents within my games have the option of Righteous Fury and will gain a further roll on a Natural 10 - even the most puny combatant might just get a shot in that just happens to find a weakpoint and get past the Astartes Power Armour and the Toughness Bonus which makes a Space Marine such a tough cookie to injure (Armour points of 8 and Toughness Bonus of 8 means that damage has to be in excess of 16 points in order to even scratch the skin of these tough hombres!)
