Twin-linked Flamer?

By Nathiel, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

I've seen it mentioned in a couple of places but never a question about how it would work...there's no attack roll...?

-20 to enemy AG test? It's after all the pseudo-attack roll.

Also, an extra hit if the Ag roll is failed by two or more degrees, perhaps?

In the tabletop game, Twin-Linked flamers just re-roll damag,e so you could also consider something like gaining Tearing.

For flamers that can jam* it is not exactly like tearing because with tearing you roll 2 dice and take the higher result.

If you can choose to reroll you would clearly do so if you rolled a 9 (jam). But what about a 3? reroll it for more damage but with an additional chance to jam? or just keep the 3 you rolled?

*as far as I remember Astartes Flamers just don't jam. So it's only relevant for non astartes flamers.

Flamer can jam, you should make an attack roll that is not a critical failure, success is irrevelant.

Then dodge is reaction so with twin linked flamer you are in the fire if you doesn't have 2 dodge.

Those later will be at -20 if you got the cleanse and purify talent.

Um.. Flamer can't jam because there's no BS roll to fail...Under Flame weapons p.142. but I guess that since the penalty from non proficiency is translated to a bonus on the target's AG test then the Twin Linked becoming a penalty on the test would be close enough. I'm not sure about the extra hit part though. I guess it would amount to the same thing. I'm gonna go with that.

Thanks guys!

In DH flamers jam when the damage result is a 9. I think I read somewhere, that this doesn't applie to astartes flamers.
