Anyone made some rules for warmachines?

By sofia4_4, in WFRP Gamemasters

I was very disappointed when Omens of War didn't include any rules for warmachines.

I have doodle some with converting WFB to WFRP 3ed, bur I'm not sure if I'm on the right track.

So cannons, catapults and boltthrowers are coming up soon for my brave group of adventurers.

Some assist would be nice. Sacrifice a maneouver and help me out please. :)

Here's all i've got from my house rulebook:

Bomb or Incendiary - DR4/CR3, Close, Unreliable 2, Blast, Blackpowder, Enc 1, Rarity: Rare. Cost (poor/avg/white/blue):10s/20s/7.7g/15.2g.

Small Cannon (7/2, close, unreliable 2, blackpowder, Enc 20, Rarity: exotic. Cost: 8g/16g/22.5g/31g (plus shot costs 3x amount of a firearm). May be carried by ogre or giant characters.

Net or whip– gains Entangled condition on two boons

Are there any specific warmachines you are looking for?

Blackpowder: Bombard, Cannon, Great Cannon

Non-blackpowder: Arbalest, Boltthrower, Trebuche, Catapult

The cannon, great cannon, and bolt thrower seem pretty easy to me. I would just take the stats for a handgun (for the cannons) or crossbow (for the bolt thrower), add a few points of damage and a 1-4 points of Pierce. Perhaps add blast to the cannon and it might make sense for the bolt thrower, but not so much. I think an additional purple die to the pool (when targeting humanoids) would help to represent the inaccuracy of such weaponry. Perhaps that's enough for you to run with.

So this is the sort of thought process I would go through to "statting" them out. Now if you want to go for narrative flair, I wouldn't stat them out at all. Rather, I'd psuedo-randomly determine where the shots are going to "hit" and perhaps give the PCs a chance to get out of the way using Observation or Coordination or something.
