Worse than the disease scenario and Grey's "Doppleganger" spell duration and # of checks?

By Emirikol, in WFRP Gamemasters

Our group now consists of a Grey wizard's app, Charlatan (commoner), and Priest of Ranald. We're about to play worse than disease,w hich requires that the PCs break into a mansion, steal a painting, and give it to the Ranaldians.

I know that the wizard is going to use the Doppleganger spell. Can someone explain the duration to me and how many checks an observer gets to make against it. Also, there will be multiple opponents, so how does that work?

Ok, this scenario is now in my top 5 list of all time favorites. First, it's 6 pages of scenario (that's a good thing). Second, it's for 'larcenous' characters (which our group is). Lastly, it incorporates a lot of wfrp goodness.

I ran it in Altdorf.

Answering my own question: the grey wizard - doppleganger lasts 'an encounter.' That was convenient. The break factor was the fellowship tests for disguising one's voice and mannerisms! It's one thing to LOOK like someone. It's something else to act and sound like them.

The ranaldian in the party used unremarkable face (another handy spell).

They got the painting..and the ranaldian BARELY made his check not to be tempted to look into the room with 'the cure' in it.

Next session, they're going to figure out how to appease Ranald and give the Shallyan a forgery (meaning bad things will happen .... >:)
