Hi!
In the FAQ it is stated that if a Hero is attached to a squad they use the movement value of the fastest unit in the combined unit. Does this also mean that the Fast ability affects the Hero when its activated?
Thanks

Yes. For example, when Bazooka Joe joins BBQ squad, they all use Fast together.

In effect Yes but reasoning is diffrent - Fast is not part of Movement Value so its not under this part of Faq.
But Heroes and Unit that they join share Abilities so they Share Fast
Hope that Helps
Thank you very much guys.

The only thing thos rule currently affects (and was a question at our last game night) was adding Action Jackson to Grim Reapers. AJ has one move, Grim Reapers have two move. So now we know that Jackson gets to move at the same speed of the Reapers.

Just out of curiosity is Action Jackson and Grim Reapers the same Armor type?
Yes, both type 3.
difference is Reapers have the rocket packs, Red Devils (which AJ has the red beret) have the parachute. AJ also has assault, so not only do the Reapers give him one more movement, but he gives them crazy good movement for one turn.
Now, what wasn't explained by AJ's card was any special rules that the chute gives the Red Devils, so I'm taking a stab that they may have a rule (since their fluff intimated that they would) that allows some kind of special deployment that they'll share with AJ when he's with them.
The only thing is, if Action Jackson joins the Grim Reapers, can they still use their rocket packs to jump? Rules say that a hero with Jump does not share his ability with any squad he joins. I'd think that works both ways and the squad does not share Jump with a hero joining them.
He wont get jump, but he'll still share the increased move.
Yes, but the squad would be earthbound until they ditched Jackson. And I have a feeling that whatever special ability the paratroopers have, also won't be shared with any joining heroes. It would be pretty weird for the hero to jump out of a plane without a parachute and just garb onto one of the troopers.
You can be grounded when you're moving 8 squares in a turn

Good god! You're right. Double move 2 with assault. That's 8 squares! Do they realize that's pretty much an insta-win for scenarios like Blue Thunder 7 - Destruction?!
What's more, according to the rulebook, page 14: "- The squad’s abilities affect the hero." So it seems while a jumping hero doesn't share the ability with a squad, a jumping squad DOES share it with a hero.
And so this Grim Reapers + Action Jackson combo is REALLY problematic. No chance of the defender winning the "Destruction" scenario, unless he wins initiative on the 2nd round and manages to park a unit with Fast on the objective square.
Why a move of 8? Not got either of these new units yet.
Grim Reapers have Move 2. On a double move they move 4 squares. If Action Jackson is with them and uses Assault, that doubles their Move for 1 turn. Now with Move 4, they move 8 squares with a double move.
Revised Rulebook pg 21.
Jump
A unit with this skill has powerful legs or jet packs that allow it to leap over obstacles.
During movement, the unit can ignore an obstacle (such as a cover element
or another unit), but it must land in an empty space. Units cannot jump
over a space without a dot (a terrain square or a vehicle). Vehicles with
the Jump skill cannot jump over structures, but soldiers or heroes with
the Jump skill can jump over structures.
A hero with this skill can only join a
squad that also has this skill. A squad with this skill can only be joined by a hero that also
has this skill.

good catch, completely missed that.
