Master Crafted jump pack?

By SShocky, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

I'm looking over assault marine's equipment and although all the weapons, armour and biotics have ruels for crafting levels i couldn't find anything for jump packs. I know they are prity intense but shouldn't you be able to get better crafted ones? Maybe, longer jump distances and hover levels? Although i don't have rites of battle but wouldn't relic jump packs be cool if the could fly for 30 minutes to an hour before needing a 15 minute recharge? Or am i going mad with the idea of having a stupidly good jump pack for assault marines?

The rulebook states that for equipment, unless specified otherwise, the differences of quality are merely descriptive. The GM may reduce the Difficulty of some Tests involving items of better craftsmanship, but that is entirely at his discretion.

There's a Blood Angel Relic winged jump pack in Rites of Battle that triples the movement rate though.

As a rule of thump giving +5 or +10 to checks with the device is always good for better quality equipment.

Perhaps a longer flight time, possibly indefinite?

Thanks for the info! So basicly you'd have to create a Relic (probably as a mission reward). Might have to think up a scenario... maybe on a space hulk that predates the great crusade... perhapes an adeptus mechanicus colony ship from early on in the age of strife (before prity much everything was forgotten/lost)? Been thinking about this one for a while, treasure trove of lost technology, with some big nasty robots (possibly illegal AI's) twisted by the warp...
