Resolving multiple melee attacks

By Rynak, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

This may already be covered somewhere else, but I can't seem to find it. The rule book doesn't state exactly how to resolve multiple melee attacks. If an AM or creature gets 4 melee attacks, do you roll 4 hit rolls, once and just roll the damage 4 times if it hit, or does it work similar to full auto with the number of hits determined by the number of successes? Sorry, the idea of rolling for 4 hits for each mob seems like it would slow the game down quite a bit and I was wondering if this was the wrong way to do things.

You would roll to hit for each attack.

That's what I was wondering based on what I read as any other option wasn't spelled out. Seems inefficient based on the semi and full auto rules. Thank-you!

I apologise if I am hijacking this thread, but I believe my question directly relates to the thread title.

A Tyranid warrior with scything talons and no ranged weapon biomorph has Multiple Arms trait and Lightning Attack talent. Making for a total of 4 possible melee attacks. I currently have the aforementioned Tyranid warrior engaged in CQB with two marines. I cannot find in the rule book where it says about "splitting" melee attacks against multiple targets.

My question: Is it possible for this Tyranid warrior to, say, make two melee attacks against one marine, and its remaining two attacks against the other marine?

I don't remember anything forbiding that, so I'd assume you can split as you wish, as long as the targets are in melee range.
