Dodgeing and Flamers

By KingCronan2, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

When shooting a flamer it says "any creatures caught in it need to make an agility test or be struck by the flames"

My question is if a charccter has already used their dodge reaction on some other attack do they still get to make an agility test to avoid the flames?

Yes, the agility roll is done instead of the firer taking a ballistic skill test.

If you have your Dodge reaction still to use, you can, if you fail your agility roll, or your agility roll doesn't get you out of the cone of flame, you can then do your Dodge reaction.

excellent thanks for your help!

It's kind of confusing because you basically Dodge twice (not counting Skill bonuses.) Our group misunderstood it for the longest time and it still doesn't really make sense.

It is an Agility test without any dodge bonus first.

If you are hit, then you can make a dodge test, but only if you are within your Ag bonus in meters of the edge of the flamers area effect. If you have a low agility or can't make the edge of the flame then you cannot dodge.
