In my current game the person playing a Cleric has a degree in European history and 15 years with various Ren Fairs, she has managed to convince over half the group that they are wanting in the name of the Emperor, and uses the her bully pulpit of faith to brow beat almost every lesser NPC administer and citizen into a quivering blob of doubt.
While it's fun and **** fine role-playing, it has a tendency to steer the games in very scripted directions. While most of the players enjoy themselves truthfully it leaves the more combat oriented players champing at the bit.
Should I use the forceful hand of the GM to steer the games, ask the player to tone it down, or maybe work on some creative party split ups?
