Dreadnoughts: Engine of War & General Advances

By PsiOmega, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

The Engine of War Trait (p. 112, RoB) states that the Dreadnought suffers a -30 penalty to Climb, Concealment, Shadowing, Silent Move and Wrangling. On the opposite page, in the "Applicable General Advances" table states that that Dreadnoughts suffers a -50 penalty to the same tests.

To me it sounds like these two penalties actually stack, and while there is the limit of a modifier being at most +-60 it does soak up some bonuses as well. So the question is, is anyone else playing it like this or do you treat either of them as a typo?

For a Dreadnaught a base -80 for these skills seem reasonable.

There is still a possibility that the player, under the right circumstances, may still be able to pull off the skill test.
