A couple questions about damaging a horde...

By Codex33, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

Hello all. I have seen it mentioned in a couple different threads on this forum that a character wielding a power weapon doubles his magnitude damage when fighting a horde. The way I see it written is that a power weapon simply inflicts an additional hit upon an attack (pg. 359).

Also, I have seen it mentioned that a character with thunder charge would attack first with his weapon before receiving his 1d5+1 unarmed attacks upon charging a horde. As written the rulebook claims that a character charging a horde (with this talent) receives 1d5+1 unarmed attacks... It doesn't mention anything about receiving normal attacks while using this talent.

Thanks for looking, would love some clarification!

You are correct, a power field only generates one additional hit.

Thunder charge is applied in addition to your normal attacks (The FFG guys errata'd you only get the bonus attacks once per charge as some unscrupulous players were trying to claim you got the extra hits for every attack you make, which is rediculous).

As far as I know only the assault marine's wrathful descent and the devastator's unrelenting devastation do straight magnatude damage. All other weapon extra effects only cause additional hits to hordes.
