The difference between Deathwatch and Dark Heresy when it comes to the rules of suppressing fire is the omission of one line in Deathwatch that was in Dark Heresy. That line is "up to half the range of the weapon". In DH you can only use suppressing fire at half weapon range. Do you think Deathwatch means you can suppress at: 1/ your weapons full range 2/ an unlimited range (As no max range is stated) or 3/ that it should be half-range and the line was accidentally missed out? I ask as this came up in our last seesion and while it seemd pretty obvious to me that it should be 1, our game put the point across for 2 and decided on 3. Just wondering what other people are playing this as. Thanks
Suppressing fire?
There's been no errata on it, so I use suppressing fire as using the weapon's normal range. I can't really see why someone would allow unlimited range, since it seems odd that firing erratically would improve a weapon's effective range.
Suppressing fire is permitted to the range listed on the weapon chart.... which is technically half the range of non-penalised shooting.
