Reactive Fire

Agree with your summary.

Ok, I've got a new question:

- Can more than one unit attempt Reactive Fire in the same turn?

Say the enemy is moving within range of 2or 3 of your squads, can you attempt to use Reactive Fire against it with each of them?

Rules say Reative fire allows one of your units to open fire. So 1,

That would be beyond cruel. With your system the attacker would completely lose his SHOOT action, just because the defender managed to use Reactive Fire.

Cruel? Maybe. Reactive Fire is a relatively high risk maneuver since the unit loses half its turn regardless of success or failure and courts the chance of losing its entire turn. It is just an artifact of being silly and allowing "C" weapons to "reactive fire". The problem is that once you are "stuck in", you don't just politely bow and back off to allow your opponent to shoot.

"Achtung! It iz now time for you to back off und allow us de shooting actions! You vill comply, ve haff vays of maykink your families suffer!"

"Adolf, kiss my keister!" <sounds of sharpened entrenching tool chopping home>

Me? I'd say that C weapons cannot be used for reactive fire, which would make it like Final Protective Fire, so that the sequence on a successful reaction (assuming an attempt to assault):

1) Reacting unit fires, active unit takes casualties

2) Active unit fires, reacting unit takes casualties

3) Active unit assaults with normal close combat rules.

The problem is allowing "C" range weapons to reactive fire.

The rules say "...to allow one of your units to open fire." It reads to me as only one could do it, even if it fails the roll and technically doesn't "open fire".

Agreed.

Now back to the whole C weapons in reactive fire. What if the active unit is not charging you, but merely crossing your way? It's making a double move to go from cover to cover, passing next to an enemy unit. What would be so crazy about both units exchanging stabs as they cross each other?

methinks:

Yes

Reactive fire is allowed as long as there is MOVEMENT in field of view and range of fire of not activated unit -.per unit

or with diffrent words - Reactive Fire is part of activation of unit - Not player special ability

I dont see reason why any one would want to limit number of reactive rolls per movement

You guys love to complicate simple rules. :)

I'm not going to sweat the C weapons used reactive too much. I think that the idea that they can be is a screw up and not allowing it solves a whole lot of issues.

I don't know, I like the fact that you better think twice before moving your BBQ Squad next to Axis Gorillas.

Depends on the Gorillas (and Zombies) stats, supposedly they are much tougher than the regular troops. Of course, it might be worth it for the 1/3 chance to burn their turn plus the 2/3 chance to burn them down.
