Random Character Creation seeking feedback

By Amehdaus, in WFRP House Rules

Working on a way to "streamline" character creation for new players (removing few of the myriad options to be less overwhelming) and to make new characters more interesting to existing players in the group by adding an element of randomness. The ruleset I've come up with thus far is in a jpeg form below.

As the title says, any feedback would be appreciated, particularly is some aspects seem too restricting or too arbitrary.

Random Characters!?

According to the WFRP online dice roller: Zero successes chance: 13% One Success chance: 87% Three success: 21%

This seems like a pretty neat idea, but you may want to rework numbers a slight bit based on data above (if necessary)

I like the random talent draw, but I'd reword it" draw two choose one of each type."

You could take these numbers and rework them into a percentile chart for characteristics: dl.dropbox.com/u/167876/WFRP3e%20characteristic%20combinations%202.0%20.pdf

You could suggest action cards based on those from the Liber Fanatica #7. I'd say that choosing action cards is the number one slow-down issue, especially if the players do not have the Players Guide or the PDF of the player's guide.

Good work :)

Ooh, thanks much -- didn't think about using the online roller to actually math out the stats.

Yeah, I see actions being the slow part, but I specifically put it as the very last choices. It comes sooner in the character creation sequence of the book. I figure that by the time the character has all of the other information already down, they know what their main skills already are so the choices are more obvious for them to browse skills more quickly or for someone to guide them to the most synergistic choices if nothing stands out purely by name.
