Undead adventure in planning: Any source material suggestions?

By Furlong Doug, in WFRP Gamemasters

I have a party that wants to focus on routing out necromancy. Does anyone have any suggestions on source material or existing adventures that can be converted to 3E, either from 2E or D&D for that matter.

Cheers

Liber Necris by Black Library is a must.

Or you could go the easy way and check source book for vampires from WFRP2 or the Restless Dead campaign from WFRP1.

I just finished reading a book titled Vampire Wars. Its a Warhammer novel all about Vampires in the Old World (The Von Carsteins) and such. It was not that great of a book, but it had great information on Vampires, undead in the old world. Lots of descriptions of places, charactrer and plot hooks etc.

Keep it simple.

Buy the PATHFINDER adventure path, "Carrion Crown." $20 and you've got a campaign started with background, future and very little GM's work. Some of the monsters could be toned back to evil/psycho/mutated/infected/humans, otherwise, why fight not having enough scenarios (an issue with WFRP3 already). I'm sitting here staring at my copy of it wondering if it might be an interesting direction to head for my campaign (that is, if I can stabilize my group..I won't plan a major campaign until we've stabilized).

One of the WFRP2 products you should 'get a hold of' is NIGHT'S DARK MASTERS. It has essential detail for WFRP. VAMPIRE COUNTS WFB AND LIBER NECRIS have been mentioned. The LIBER FANATICA #7 scenario REVENANT, which I might note is awesome, covers this stuff as well. ;)

There are not a lot of undead FAN scenarios from the old scenario contests.

GHOST of mondstelle by Clive Oldfield is a fan scenario worth downloading in this direction as well (somewhere on my gallery page until we find a permenant repository for the wfrp3 fan scenarios): gallery.rptools.net/v/contrib/emirikol7/

Any given old RAVENLOFT scenario would work as well.

You will probably want to read up on STIRLAND in the SIGMAR's HEIRS supplement (or night's dark masters), because the undead menace is typically linked to vampires..but it's possible not to go down that cliche' route every..single..time..undead..appear… :)

the old 2ed book "Shades of Empire" had a group called "the Dreamers" which are basicly groups of undead hunters that are guided by dreams fro
Mor

Now we have the From the Grave and Morr priests print on demand supplements as well.

Get hold of the 1st edition campaign, Lichemaster. We converted it very successfully to 3rd edition a couple of years ago. Believe me it will give yor players all the undead they could want, and without a Vampire in sight.

Great idea Ragnar. I've got a priest of Morr in my group, but I think he's gone more the Augury route (I allowed him to take omen, but mostly he just runs around with Morr-Fist :)

Here's an unboxing:
