Arkham Horror Statistics Reports

On the 22nd Mythos Card/21st Turn

Unless a game effect has caused you to draw an additional Mythos card, this is impossible. You draw a Mythos card basically before the investigators start their part of the turn, so that on investigators' turn 1 only the first Mythos card has been drawn, on turn 2 the second Mythos card has been drawn and so on... on investigators' turn 21 the 21st Mythos card has been drawn, and by the time you draw your 22nd Mythos card investigators can no longer take any actions before their turn 22. Thus, the turn you're on is equal to the number of Mythos cards drawn until the Mythos phase starts.

So, which one was it, 22nd Turn/Mythos card or 21st Turn/Mythos card? Just a minor issue to nitpick, I know, but it stood out in an otherwise accurate and well-written report that made me want to play AH again, so thanks for that.

The first Mythos card drawn for the game does not occur during a "turn." A lot of forum users refer to this period ending after the first Mythos card as "turn 0."

Note that the Mythos card is the last thing drawn for a turn, not the first. The Professor's got it right.

Nope, you and I are saying the same thing, but The Professor a different thing. If he is in the middle of turn 21, he has drawn 21 Mythos cards (20 Mythos cards at the end of every turn + the pre-game Mythos card), yet in his post he claims he is at Mythos card 22.

I see that my original comment was a bit confusing, but I didn't try to imply that the pre-game Mythos card drawing happened during turn 1. I just meant that while turn 1 was on (and not yet at the Mythos phase), only 1 Mythos card had this far been drawn. The same is true in the middle of turn 2 (2 Mythos cards drawn that far), etc. So, the turn you're on (before Mythos phase) equals to the amount of Mythos cards drawn thus far (unless a game effect causes an extra Mythos card to be drawn).

Oh, I see what you mean now. They then WON the game by sealing. Right.

Maybe he was counting the Mythos card drawn for placing a Servant of Glaaki.

Villain,

Good catch! The answer is 21. Each of the Investigators in the 2nd-4th position had five turns, while Carolyn Fern (1st position) had six turns.

The Professor

Tibs,

Actually, as we had three separate Servants of Glaaki appear, I pulled a Mythos Card, read the Gate Location, and discarded the Mythos Card ~ in the end it was 21. Villain caught the discrepancy. I managed to bury " Next Act " cards when attempting to place a Servant ~ that helped.

The Professor

Oops... Just submitted a game under the nickname "Seven" Vs. Cthulhu as Victory by Final Combat that should be Defeat (during Final Combat) and it was 22 turns long just to clarify.

...for those who want to know how this one ended...

Unfortunately, the team of four did not maintain control of how quickly the Gates opened around us. Despite the four Gates we sealed and another handful the Investigators did manage to close, Shub-Niggurath awoke and we dealt the pain!

In the battle, the were the only Items of use...

Joe: Ally (Tom "Mountain Man" Murphy, +2 Fight); Gladius of Carcosa, +5 (when using two hands); a Bless; 4 Clue Tokens; and 7 Monster Trophies

Harvey: Spell (Wither, +3); Spell (Shrivelling, +6) [along w/full Sanity]; Skill (Expert Occultist); 8 Clue Tokens; and 5 Monster Trophies

Leo: Ally (Ruby Standish; +2 Sneak), Lamp of Alhazred, +5; 5 Clue Tokens; and 1 Monster Trophy

Vincent: Tommy Gun, +6; Spell (Enchant Weapon); Dusty Manuscripts (+1 to Spell Checks); 5 Clue Tokens; and 2 Monster Trophies

While the team did magnificently well the first round, removing 3 Doom Tokens from Shubby, Vincent (with only one Sanity remaining on his sheet) was forced to simply make Sneak checks for the following several rounds. Over the four rounds of combat, the team made all but three Sneak checks, which removed 2 Monster Trophies from Harvey and 1 from Joe. In the end, we defeated Shubby, and Arkham hailed us heroes...onto the next game...

Man, buttload of Clues and monsters trophies as well as everyone with a Magical Weapon. If Shubby doesn't go down with that setup, she shouldn't go down at all. Sounds like you didn't trade Tommy + EW from Vincent though? Maybe swapping those for Leo's Lamp, everyone once more has Magical bonus to combat checks.

That's why you need to play with Epic Battle cards. demonio.gif

-Villain

Good call, Dam!

During the first round, failed to mention that Leo cast Dread Curse of Azathoth , which yielded a few hits, but brought his Sanity down to 1 ~ thus, no more spellcasting for him. You'er right however, if Leo had the Sanity to withstand another round or two, the trade would have given him Fight 4 +6 ( TG ) - 5 (Shubby) 5 dice, along with Vincent with a Fight 3+5 ( Magic Lamp ) - 5 (Shubby) for 3 dice.

New game, started last night...GOO: Shudde' Mell and the Investigators: Darrell Simmons, Jenny Barnes, Marie Lambeau, and Kate Winthrop

Hey all! The new report is up for March, 2010. Go check it out !

Sorry it took so long, but I spent time updating my own personal spreadsheet to accommodate the Lurker in the Threshold expansion for when it's out. This will also save me some time when I do the next 2500-game archival.

Also, Google Docs was acting up on me, and now apparently you can paste formats along with data, which messed up my pretty color format (I tried to use Edit>Paste Values Only, but that appeared to do NOTHING). One consequence of this is that I've added some color to many of the pages, to visually separate components by expansion. For example, you can see how the Innsmouth AOs size up against the others by color alone. Also, I noticed that the reason Cthugha was harder to defeat in final combat than Quachil Uttaus was that they were actually both equal. I'll try to make sure that the AO with more games overall takes precedence.

As always, some new fun facts have arisen:

  • KW's clues-per-seal difficulty has shot up from 1% to nearly 8%. I must have made an error last month.
  • A new entry has been listed under Final Combat Modifiers: Lily Chen's "This Is It"!

Tibs,

First, great stats! Having served 10 years active Duty in the Air Force, and now working for the Department of Justice, I truly appreciate your "number crunching" work. Second, in my attempt to get the information onto the sheet, I had failed to account for the Monster Trophies, which would yield an additional few points. May I ask you to change the Final Score for my most recent post (Darrell, Marie, Jenny, and Kate vs. Shudde M'ell) to 23.

Thanks,

The Professor

I really like the new supplement-based colouring. Well done!

From adversity comes innovation. Had Google Docs retained their recent cut-and-paste format, I wouldn't have colorized anything. On the other hand, if Google Docs had allowed format pasting from the start, it would have been fully colorized all along!

oops, just entered a stats report for Amanda, Michael and Sister Mary but it should have been Mandy, Michael and Sister Mary (yup the best-rated and worst-rated dames in Arkham were drawn randomly to face off against the randomly drawn Great C~ himself, with the Stars are Right rumour coming out very quickly).

Hey everyone! The new stats report is up. Go check it out:

AH Stats Report 04/2010

Those most notable thing about this report is that I realized that in previous reports, Azathoth was being counted towards calculating the "final battle modifiers" section. So I took those entries out of the count.

Also, in future submissions: if you lost a game to Azathoth, don't check any of the boxes in the "Final Battle Modifiers" section. It'll save me the trouble of manually removing them so that they don't skew the stats anymore.

As always, enjoy!

From my POV:

Cthulhu and Tsathoggua being harder than Yog-Sothoth sorpresa.gif ?!?!

Even Tulzscha is now harder than BGotW Herald.

Spoilers for Lurker at the Threshold Herald. Now demonio.gif !

Colors for some of the Rumors are off (Riots from DH has KH colors, ditto for Endlessly Breeding from BGotW).

Ehm, maybe a silly question, but... has Lurker at the Treshold already been released?? How is it possible to have stats regarding rumors from the new expansion or having the major part of the GOO + the new herald already beaten?

I recall Tibs asking for info (names mostly I think) so he could update the report card. As for the games, I'd put my 2c on playtesters.

EDIT: Hehe, looks like the Lurker stuff has vanished gui%C3%B1o.gif . IIRC the Mythos Busters correctly, the names were MillMaster (I name familiar from the olden days of the old, old forums if I'm not mistaken) and, sadly, kroen, only user more annoying than Avi lengua.gif .

I saw they disappeared. No problems with Tibs knowing and updateing the sheet, my doubts were related to the results. Even if the results arrived from playtesting, it didn't make to me much sense. Everything's clear, thx Dam

It was an April Fool's Day joke. The first of the month to me is sadly only known as "Arkham Report Day" so I didn't even realize it was April Fool's until I sat down at the computer. So I conjured up some fake Lurker stuff (I think I faked the rumor names pretty well) and said nothing more of it.

kroen was in there for all the recent forum users, and MillMaster is known to all the truly Old Ones from the earliest forum iteration. Figured you guys would appreciate those ;)

Julia, you bring the tar, I'll bring the feathers. If Avi shows up, he'll bring the rope.
