A little help (big spoilers)

So my new group just finished the starting adventure from the main box and things have gone horribly, horribly wrong.

The group decided to chase off the beastmen as they didn't fill in the clues they had received about all the other goings on, so as they are fighting off the beastmen and the wargor the cultists are climbing the tower. A storm of magical energy begins to brew and they are still fighting the beastmen so eventually, the wargor falls and the demon emerges, they flee due to wounds and the demon slaughters the household.

My question is where to from here ? The dwarf has already taken the hammer back to his halls and been promoted to ironbreaker, the gambler is falling in with some shadowy figures (witch hunters maybe ?). The cleric of Shallya died in the demons onslaught (and will probably be rolling a cleric of taal). What adventure do you think I should go for next ?

You might want to consider running Edge of Night with something like a Changeling, or a Chaos Zombie Aschaffenberg in place of the real Aschaffenberg. Taking Ubersreik after Grunewald would make sense to have been the cultists' plan all along.

You could revise the enemy in Edge of Night to make it the cult going on to "new strengths" with the Von Bruners the primary targets and the plan to corrupt the elite of Ubersreik. Use the replacement Aschaffenberg from the suggestions in Edge of Night. Replace all the skaven with more cultists of various sorts but keep the orrerry.

You will have to find a way to make one of the families fit as a desirable patron.

If you want more of a gap, Gathering Storm (larger gap in time) or Horror of Hugeldal (short gap in time) first.

Do you have a plan for a longer term storyline? That would probably be a good indicator of what to run next.

Definately suggest getting EoN sorted out though. You could even have a possessed Aschaffenberg bidding for power, just come up with some slight quirks in his personality that werent there before. And a not quite so convincing backstory about how he and some of his valiant guards managed to overcome the demon/cultists at Grunewald, after all do they know the identities of all those who were guilty?... maybe if they return to the lodge to investigate they find Vern Hendrick chained up and tortured, ready to explain what happened.

Make sure the demon returns to haunt them later. If you had fun, the adventure was a success. The consequences of their failure will add a lot of fun to your campaign :)

Perhaps they spot the horrible painting at an auction somewhere and this excentric keeps bidding on it and will outbid anyone. Does he want to summon the demon and control it? May be worth investigating.
