My google-fu is failing me. If I remember correctly he was the captain of the guard. When one of the Von Carstien family were sieging Altdorf, and died, one of his generals ended up at Stormdorf. There Olaus Stichelm killed the general. But, I can't seem to find any more detailed information on the web (like, which member of the Carstien family was sieging Altdorf, when, the name of the general, and how Olaus saved Stormdorf from greenskins). Any chance someone can point me to this information (or, if it is in the Gathering Storm and I have just not found it, let me know a page number)?

The vampire slain by Olaus was Count Shrek (from poking around a forum thread search...haven't confirmed with my copy of the adventure as yet)

That event was 500+/- years in the past which lines up with Vlad Von Carstein's siege and untimely end upon the sharpened stakes beneath the battlements of Altdorf...where he was then bellyflopped upon by the Grand Theogonist (from Spires of Altdorf).

From TGS, page 5: "The town found brief fame in 2051, during the Wars of the Vampire Counts, when a remnant of von Carstein's defeated undead army , retreating south from Altdorf, reached Stromdorf. After the vampire commanding them was slain by the town's militia captain, Olaus Stichelm, the attacking force literally crumbled. Stichelm however, had suffered a mortal wound. He fell at the banks of Frothing Ford, near a marble slab..."
