I'm not looking to bash the concept, I just have some thoughts/questions (mostly because I haven't seen any issues in actual play).

* To transition, you've got to figure out how to MIN-MAX saving up for your transition. This seems like a cheap rip-off (and bad combo) of wfrp2 and D&D's Prestige Classes.
What do you mean by this? Are you talking about the matching traits for a less costly transition?

* You don't gain a bonus on skills from creation..you have to train them..which promotes min-maxing
The thing is, you do get a bonus for the skills you train at character creation ... when you spend 2 or 3 points on skills, you get the free 1 or 2 specializations. That is there to compensate for the spec's you would miss from the dedication bonus. That way, everyone has 1 or 2 skills that don't get the bonus one way or another.
If you are getting rid of the dedication bonus, you really should get rid of the bonus specializations at char-gen.

* Humans switching careers on a whim at barely any cost (this works well I suppose in some people's games where the GM forces players to always have to play the same character every session, rather than giving them the option of switching characters to what's relevant to a campaign instead).
There are simpler ways of mitigating this (usually make the bonus not kick in until they have spent 4+ advances in a career makes it work).
Are you compensating humans at all for taking this out?
