Iron Halo--What is Required?

By At Last Forgot, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

Hey there folks, quick question regarding the Availability of an Iron Halo and how you all handle it.

In RoB, there is an Honour by the same name which gives a character the item for free any time they wish to requisition it.

Preceding this, the Iron Halo was statted out in the Deathwatch Core Book as an item which could be taken for 40 Requisition at the Hero level of Renown.

My question is: Is the Honour required/the only way to get the Halo? Terminator armour requires an Honour to wear, but it also mentions it specifically as a requirement.

Thanks,

I would say this depends on how you want to run with the Honours/Distinctions system. If you want players to actually value it, I would say force them to actually achieve that, rather than buy it with requisition, although I would say that this is a house rule first.

I would say the Honour is deffinatly required as the halo is seen as someone in an authority position.

I would say that the Iron Halo honour bestows the Space Marine the honour to get his own personal Iron Halo wargear on a permanent basis . That should be valuable enough.

Without it, a Marine needs to meet the normal requirement for Renown and then pay the req to be given the Halo for one mission only .
