LCG Trading?

By wackanation, in 5. AGoT Trade Forum

I'm kind of new to the LCG world. I used to play/still play the Star Wars CCG, which stopped being created in 2001. Even though it's a dead game, there is still a relatively large player base. Naturally, this means that people still buy/sell/trade cards. To me, it makes sense: cards carry rarity, because they aren't being made anymore, etc.

So how does this work in an LCG? Is rarity even a valid characteristic of a card?

My understanding is the chapter packs contain cards for all the houses. If you're playing beyond the core set, you probably are building a deck for just 1 or 2 of the houses. Then you have extra cards that you can use to trade for cards from other chapter packs that you want. There isn't rarity since all the card packs are set.

That's good to know. Thanks! Cheers!

There is some rarity on the earlier chapter packs which only contain 1 copy of certain cards, but 3 of others. Certainly the rarity is not that rare since you are guaranteed to get one copy per pack, but relatively speaking they are rarer. Likewise you need 3 core sets to get a full play set of every card from it, leaving opportunities for trade there if you don't feel the need to have cards from every house.

The newer chapter packs come with 3 copies of all the cards though.
