Hordes attacking Hordes

By Magnus Grendel, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

Apologies if I'm being a muppet:

With Imperial Assets in Rites of Battle, having 'friendly' hordes along at the same time becomes increasingly likely. Surely an attack from a magnitude 50 horde (representing...oh...let's say half of the horde firing over its three attacks, so 50 guardsmen?) must do more than one magnitude damage to an enemy horde?

50 Magnitude would give the horde 5 extra attacks, for a total of 6. Semi-auto on a Lasgun gives 3 hits. Multiply those together and you have a maximum of 36 hits. Each of those is likely to deal a point of magnitude once you factor in the extra damage.

So you could deal 36 magnitude to the horde.

How did you get 36 from 6 x 3? Or is there something that I have overlooked?
