Psychic Powers and Multiple Attacks

By player1536185, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

ok so just to make sure ive got this straight, only 1 psychic power per turn, only one of any single half action per turn, only one attack per turn is that right?

also I get that Ross Watson said unless otherwise noted using a psychic power counts as a standard attack action, but I just do not buy that. If it did why does the focus power action exist at all? or is it just that after deciding not to give psychic powers subtypes they forgot to remove the focus power action? personally as a GM i'm just gonna use common sense within the three rules above. It wouldn't be the first time a reply from a writer has been wrong, like that time when one of the designers confused breaching shears with a power fist.

Yes, only 1 power per turn, only one attack per turn, and only one of any single action in a turn. This lines up with the DH eratta as well. Multiple people have gotten this same response regarding attacks and psy powers.

The purpose, as I understand it, is so that you cannot use more than one power in a turn and so that you cannot use a power and attack in the same turn. This is all with the disclaimer that an individual power (like force sword activation) can be excluded from this general rule.

The focus power action simply counts as an attack for the purposes of determining what else you can do in a turn, the time it takes to activate the power varies from power to power.

TBH, I'd rather see the powers broken into subtypes, some that might make sense to use with attacks, but the blanket rule works well enough and don't really gimp the psykers.
