Blood Angel Psychic powers and Vehicles

By nolsutt, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

2 questions gents,

1. Can I use the power blood boil on the pilot of a Chaos Dreadnought?

2. Does blood lance ignore all the armor for a vehicle? If so, it seems like the best anti mech guy in the game is a libby with this baby.

thanks

1. I would say 'No.' (Although I play a BA Lib myself.)
2. Armour and cover protect as normal against the blood lance.

But I have just been frying two Rhinos with a single pushed cast of Avenger recently, much to the shock of my GM, The Russian. cool.gif The rear armour of Rhinos isn't all that and a pushed Avenger has Pen of 12 for a starting Librarian . Increases by 2 per PR, so that's nice, as well as the ability to fry more than 1 vehicle.

AHHH, I just now looked at blood lance and realized it ignores toughness not armor! The Avenger trick is a good idea, I should probably read through the psychic powers section again to see that.

My BA is a reckless risk-taker though, don't complain to me if your Lib gets eaten by a Daemon when he pushes his Avenger to try to penetrate armour. At higher Ranks you won't have to psuh as hard though.

I'm fairly certain Dreadnaughts are immune to powers directed at their biological body rather than the vehicle carrying said body... but then, I've only glanced through Rites of Battle.

As a dreadnought is not open topped, the pilot cannot be the target of attacks.
