I've GM'ed a single encounter before. This group was completely new to me. I met them through meetup.com. They turned out to be a great bunch of guys. We had a blast and they were very impressed with WHRP (and my capabilities as DM)

I have a celestial apprentice, a high elf "ronin" swordmaster, a roadwarden, and a ratcatcher. Because of the wizard, I added a plot twist with Niklaus Shulman up front. My written session recap can be found under a different post.

As a new group, I was a bit looser with the amount of banter as we got to know each other. As the session went on, I was kept folks on game. It's a bit long (four hours) and we never even had a combat encounter, but we had an absolute blast!

One of your players plays a swordmaster, another one plays a ratcatcher: In which expansions are those careers included? They are not part of the core set, aren't they? Are they stuff from TGS?

The Ratcatcher and the Swordmaster are both in the Adventurer's Toolkit.
