Force Weapon Damage and Righteous Fury

By Banjulhu, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

I'm was trying to work out what to do when Righteous Fury is caused by a force weapon and hit a few problems which has me going around in circles asking the same quiestions over and over

Is the extra damage roll caused by a psyker using a force weapon a part of the attack that caused the damage or something seperate If they are part of the same attack damage and Righteous Fury is caused by any of the dice do you make a second WS check to confirm as the attack that caused the Righteous Fury was a melee one?

From the errata I get the felling that FFG want you to make a second opposed Focus Power check to confirm damage from the psyker bonus damage but that would make the psychic damage component a seperate attack from the physical attack which would in turn mean the the orginal extra d10s are reduced by TB and AP seperately from the physical attack's.

However making them seperate that goes against what is written in the force weapons rules which says add the extra d10s to the weapons damage. which then makes me to ask my first question again

You would only need to confirm the attack roll.

If you hit again, you gain an additional 1d10 damage. You do not add anything else to this damage.

If you roll a 10 for damage on the bonus die then you can roll again, and keep rolling that 1d10 until you no longer get a result of 10.
