Drugs and poisons feedback wanted

I had a few ideas on how to create drugs and poisons and wanted to get some feedback or to see what other suggestions are floating around, I havent seen another topic on this subject so hopefully im not going over old ground.

My idea was to put them in card format, either a mini card or a item card dependant one what works best so they are kept as a reminder. The cards would list the traits, duration, effects and qualities of the subsance at hand.

Traits- Mental (WPDis) or Physical (T Res) to define which tests to either recover or resist said effect. Consumed, Weapon, Gas (All those engaged), Inhaled (smoked) to define how the substance is administered. And finally Resisted with a number 1-4 as which defines the difficulty check to not suffer the effects to resist against the substance effects. Not all poisons or drugs should be resisted.

Duration- Obviously how long the effects last for this could be in rounds, an encounter, or in days. Any conditions would last the duration. These seemed the most appropriate time break downs.

Effects- The effects negative and positive

After effects-If any, These last for the same duration as the initial effects. I orginally thought you could have this information on the reverse of the card, but im not sure this is required

Qualities- Attributes of the substance, my ideas here currently are;

Ongoing; only for durations that use rounds or days, at the start each round/day the effected character suffers the effects again. If resisted the character can test to resist again. If effects are resisted previous conditions are not removed.

Addictive (1d-4d); Substances with the addictive quality must take a Discipline test with difficulty equal to the addiction rating, failure means they take penalties to all physical or mental tests (as defined by the trait) until they take more of the substance.

Incubation (No.) Substances with the incubation key word take a number of days equal to the number to take effect. This could be replaced my T/WP maybe.

These are my rough ideas let me know what you think or if you have any other suggestions.

I was thinking of something along those line for preparing poisons and drugs also, I thought that the ingredients could be either brought or found dependant on region obviously.

Had a play with strange eons and came up with something like this..

You have to export it to an upload page somewhere. I recommend Dropbox.(because it's free and you don't have to sell your soul to get a download..unlike Scribd or a torrent): db.tt/WLWyyjV Put your document into the public folder and then right click (click on dropbox then Copy Public Link). It stores it on their website and your computer. Here's an example: dl.dropbox.com/u/167876/WFRP2%20Conspiracy%20scenario.docx

I've also gone as far as uploading stuff to ENWORLD and then linking it back here ;) Dropbox is much better though. You could also do a gmail document with a public link.

I think coming up with a list of ingredients would be very handy. Could probably just copy some of the ideas from WAR online.

Hi there crimsonsun. What happened to the drug project? It looked really promising, and right in line with my own thoughts on the subjects. Drugs and posions is an area that's really underdeveloped right now, and since I have an apotechary in the group I really need to fix a system for drugs pretty soon. So everything new on the subject is welcome.

Here is a quick example poison I've been working on for my game set around Mordheim. This is just from some quick notes I made while scrounging through the Mordheim rules and is by no means playtested yet.

Black Lotus (Poison): Each dose of black lotus is enough to coat one weapon and lasts one encounter. In the deepest forests of the Southlands grows a plant that is extremely poisonous. It is known as Black Lotus and is much sought after by alchemists, assassins, wizards of the Western Coast and bored wives.
Effect: An attack using a weapon coated in black lotus sap gains:
[boon]: Reduce the target’s toughness by one for this attack
[boon][boon]: Reduce the target’s toughness by two for this attack
[boon][boon][boon]: Ignore the target’s toughness for this attack
Special: Daemons and Undead are immune to black lotus.

unfortunately i had a complete article almost finished on alchemy in the old world from preparing ingredients to some careers involved in alchemy, but a virus and some formating issues means i cannot access it on my computer i will get it sorted but ive just been caught up in the real world of late...

With a bit of thinkin I can now access the file, sodding microsoft word was the issue, anyway I expecting something on the subject in the slaanesh supplement so dont want to go into to much depth, being as ive already lost my first completed draft, only to have ffg handle it totally different, but I do have my completed list of all the alchemical concoctions I could think og on paper, it wouldnt take me more than a few hours to write up the completed poisons and drugs list with basic rules and throw them into pdf while we wait n see what ffg release in the forthcomming expansion as to be honest I lost a good hundred hours+ work, so im rather dissheartened to do it again currently as im severly dyslexic so I can often have alot of difficulty expressing myself on paper/screen.

Your obviously free use the full rules in my drop box folder as well, but I have a fair few ammendments from playtest that I had changed in the document I lost. If it interests you I also have full backgrounds and stats for the characters that you see snipets of talkin throughout the article that I need to change the format of I can post. If you have and feedback especially CRITISIM that is constructive please do give, and if you have any ideas or want to develop things further thats cool, but let me know and maybe we can bounce a few ideas.

Anyway let me know if you want the finished list of poisons and drugs theres about thirty of each I think, I can attach spoilage into the pdf also, but it will be in pretty basic format im afraid.
