Tactical Marines and Weapons

By Loki77515, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

I can't find this immediately in the rule-book, so I was hoping someone could tell me something about my Tac. Marine using two weapons.

Is it okay for my guy to have a Godwyn Bolter in one hand and a chainsword in the other? I know I can fire the Godwyn one-handed without penalty because I'm a Space Marine, but is there any feat I have to take to be able to hold the two ready at all times, one in each hand.

I'm not asking if I can attack with them both at the same time, but can I just hold them both all the time and decide which I want to attack with whenever I feel like it without having to take a Talent or anything? Thank you!

Normaly to do what you are saying and attack with both weapons with out penalty requires Two Weapon Wielder(Melee) and Two Weapon Wielder(Ballistic). You can hold them with out any issue even if you do not have the talents.

You're ambidextrous, being a space marine. So yes, you can use either one freely as long as you don't try to use them both in the same turn.

Baron Throatpunch:

Thank you very much, thats what I thought.

Nimon:

Please reread my last paragraph. You will see that that is NOT what I was asking. gui%C3%B1o.gif But thanks, anyway.

HOWEVER, you cannot attack with a Basic weapon in melee.

Read the last part of my response. I did answer you question even though I gave you a bit more. Simple- You can hold both weapons, I guess it was such a simple question it required some expanding on. If the rest of your questions are going to be so abesnt of substance I will leave them for others to respond too.

Loki, if you requisition a dipole maglock for your chainsword, you can draw it from a stowed position and even parry with it from stowed, without needing any additional talents; you can keep your off-hand free at all times if you choose. If you want to have a weapon in each hand, you can certainly do that too, as noted above. My own tac marine keeps his chainsword stowed most of the time; sadly, I have not yet had a reason to use it.

Nimon: You were talking about attacking with two weapons, which is not what I was talking about initially.

I'm sorry if I sounded patronizing.

Direach: Hrmm... I'll look into the maglock. Sounds good.
