Squad Mode Question

By Loki77515, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

Lets say a fight starts and I'm the leader. I get the highest intiative roll and call my squad mates into Squad Mode, they then use their reactions to try and pass a Cohesion Test to see if they all enter it. They all pass.

Now, the fight is over and we have won. Do we immediately exit Squad Mode or can we stay in it as long as we want?

Oops, nevermind. Just read the most recent erratta. Seems my squad mates and I can maintain Squad Mode between encounters as long as we are within support range and have 1 point of cohesion.

Also, if one marine enters Squad Mode the others can without any issues. No tests needed

Oh, wow. That simplifies things mightily. Thanks!

Other things you should know about Squad Mode.
You don't have to be the Squad Leader to enter Squad Mode.
Rites of Battle states that you may use Solo Mode abilities in Squad Mode but at the cost of 1 Cohesion if it is an Active Ability.
If you are in Squad Mode, you may use your Squad Mode Abilities if you are not the leader. (But check with the group if it's alright.)
You can form seperate Squads if the Kill-team splits up. Each group is then considered a Squad.
Download the Errata. It is invaluable.

I'm sorry to be dense, but I have a question about this. I read the errata and see that as soon as a marine enters Squad Mode, the others can as well (as long as they are within support range). So here's the situation:

-Marine A enters Squad Mode by passing a Cohesion Challenge. Of his fellow marines, all within support range, B & C immediately enter (no action needed) and D decides not to.

-Later that round, Marine D decides he wants to enter Squad Mode with the rest of his brothers. He has to pass a Cohesion Challenge or spend a full action.

Yes?

As long as you want to. Note that some Specialties abilities depend on mode. Squad Mode is a state of mind, not of actual use of abilities.

Yes.

Your not being dense. Squad Mode is a new mechanic for RPGs and one that was worded very awkwardly in places.
