Critical damage and healing

Hello!

When you have taken Critical Damage (below 0 Wounds) First Aid will only restore 1 Wound if successful. If this brings you to 0 wounds you are instead Heavily Damaged. Then you can use a Fate Point to restore another 1D10 Wounds. You are not allowed to heal Critical Damage by spending Fate Points.

I believe this is how it works, please correct me if I am wrong.

Now to my question: Is it possible to heal Damage that are not Critical Damage even though you are Critically Damaged? Eg. you have 20 Wounds, are at -3 Critical Damag, can you heal say 5 points with Fate so when you recieve Extended Care back to 0 Critical Damage you only need Extended Care to restore 15 Wounds instead of 20?
