Plasma Weapons

Can plasma weapons fired on maximal mode burst or are they restricted to single shot?

Eventhough it doesn't explicitly say so in the RAW I'd say that they are restricted to one shot.

p. 147 say that the plasma weapons on maximum setting "requires a short time to replenish the plasma back to firing levels" and that they get the Recharge and Overheats qualities.

The Recharge quality states that a weapon can only fire once every other round, so I'd say that two shots in one round is a no-no.

You would think that, but back in the Dark Heresy all plasma guns had recharge and often had semi auto rates of fire as well. So I guess they did intend for weapons to be able spray a couple of shots one turn but ot fire the next.

It can build up enough charge for a maximal firing - either single shot or Semi-Auto Burst - and after that it has to deal with the Recharge.

I'd allow it to be fired each round on single shot, and only require recharge when firing semi-auto.

Yes you can, only the Wrath (which is only single fire) and the Clovis (which has full auto and cannot use maximal when doing that) cannot so far.

Unless something is different, because those are Rogue Trader weapons.
