I also plan on creating a vampire keep hidden somewhere in Lady Grey pass, it's history will be closely connected to von Jungfreuds. The keep is said to be in ruins as Sigismund's grand-grand father razed it to the ground almost 100 years ago. Its called Fanghorn (yeah not very original, so I'm open for suggestions). I plan on creating a module arround that keep and it's history, as a part of my campaign.

I really need to get EoN to have a better understanding on the prominent noble families of Reikland. Does someone or some publication have a drawn family trees of the families? Would be very helpful. To add to the soup I have two minor noble familiesof my own: Von Faust (one of my heroe's family) and arch villain of Von Faust's, Von Wöller (that one came from the 1st edition Warhammer, where one of the player characters, a short and stocky lamb loving ranger called Otto Wöller became the arch enemy of our group. Now the Wöller's make an appearance in 3rd edition as minor nobles gran_risa.gif ).

Mal. Since the Warhammer names have an germanic origin you might want to name the castle Hauerburg (Fangcastle), Hauerspitze (Fanghorn/Fangtop) or Hauerberg (Fangmountain). Just an idea as Fanghorn reminded me a lot of Fangorn forest...

thanks a lot mate, I where fishing for some name ideas as my german is a bit rusticgran_risa.gif. cool Ideas. Dont be surprised if I launch a a module called "terrors at the Hauerburg castle" for LF 8 or "the shadow from Hauerspitze mountain".

Again thanks! and I am very intriqued by your addon of two minor noble families. Ubersreik keep getting more and more interesting. gonna paste all the posts here to make a Ubersreik library of really cool ideas.

Update!

My group will be finishing The Gathering Storm by the end of next session (Missing this weekend, so in two weeks), so I'm nearing "Go time" on EoN.

I've made a few changes to how I'm handling it. The group will be travelling by road most likely, as the Dwarf Soldier has developed a fear of water thanks to various events in TGS, and a convenient permanent insanity.

There will be a letter from Aschaffenberg waiting for them when they return to town, mentioning that he'd heard they were in the area and requesting their assistance. He sweetens the pot by implying there will be a hefty reward, and summons them to Ubersreik, mentioning some basics about what is involved but being fairly vague.

On the road I plan to have the Coach encounter, in which Von Sapontheim decides to utilize such a hardy group of useful dup... adventurers. He hires them as escorts, and invites two of them to sit inside; the two will be based upon the conversation had during the repairs and any impressions they make on him depending on career traits or talent cards. I'm not certain yet who will be going in, since two of our players will likely need new characters. They're quite wounded and about to face everyone's least favorite Celestial Wizard in TGS. Have to see what they make and how they play it.

Von Sap will set about trying to convince them that Von Holzenauer is destitute, and seeks only to bankrupt the coffers of the town in order to shore up his rather large debts. He also calims Aschaffenberg is different since returning from Grunwald Lodge, and there is news that he may not have been the hero in that encounter he claims to be (Hints to the group that Aschaffenberg is making more of his part than he ought to).

So Von Sap then asks the group for a small boon; simply deliver a sealed letter to an associate of his who has some contacts with the "man on the street".

The group then has a few possibilities. The main things they can get out of their actions are as follows; If they deliver the letter, Von Sap gives them each 10 Schillings, and promises more work in the future. They can look inside, breaking the seal (Which increases the suspicion tracker I've implemented by one space), in which a missive is written saying "The Masquerade is this Marktag at Seven. I will arrange for the rear gate to be open. Aschaffenberg and Von Holzenauer will be there. At the bottom of the page a strange Triangle is faintly visible, on a successful 1d Observation. If they deliver the letter, it is accepted by a strange smelling old man who speaks in halting Reikspiel. They can't quite place his accent, but a 2d Education will tell them it is reminiscent of the Tilean accent. Perhaps Miragliano, on a Sigmar's Comet. (Obscure Skavenblight reference). If they chase him, or a Dwarf comes near, he flees, snatching the scroll and using every means necessary to escape, including Skitterleap (Any guesses to his identity?).

In all, the group is unlikely to end up with much more than a distrust for Von Sap and some initial clues that something is going to go wrong at the ball. They can still choose to help Von Sap of course, but knowing my group, they're more likely to side with Aschaffenberg or Von Holzenauer.

So the most obvious change I'm making is removing the Mercenaries. Von Sap is fully aware of who he's hiring to deal with his adversaries. He just doesn't know that the Skaven don't plan to help him at all, they just want to kill and mutate as many of the nobility as possible to destabilize the city, thus his encounter with the Assassin I have planned later on. Behind von Sap is the Jungfreuds, who are not completely aware of the Skaven, and simply have given von Saponatheim support (easily discoverable support) as they imagine him to be an ambitious but ultimately controllable ruler through his mother and his ongoing feud with his brother. They stand to benefit if the Skaven succeed as well, since the chaos that takes place will need someone with a reasonable ability to quell an uprising. In order to stop Auerswald or even Bretonnia from capitalizing, the Jungfreuds ride to the rescue and take the town... in the name of the Emperor, of course.
