The Omophagea and You

By SonofDorn, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

Last night, a couple of my players and I were discussing rules and one of them brought up the issue of the Omophagea implant. According to the character sheet, the Omophagea implant description, you may gain a Skill or Skill Group by devouring a portion of an enemy.

What the player wanted to know was this: Is the acquired Skill permanent or is there a certain amount of time that you keep the knowledge before it fades away? His reasoning for it was possible abuse by other players in our group, feeling that it would ruin the game if the Space Marines were to go around eating everyone they could to retain Skills.

I searched the forums high and low for any information on this, but didn't see anything concerning this issue.

Why not digestive time so about 9 hours?

If you want it less powerfull maybe could it last a scene, or shorter one use ( in the case of pilot skill one ride)

Alternatively you could use RAW :)

Page 36; skills are gained as basic for {Int bonus} hours.
