Except that what is RAW isn't as clear as some who have a specific interpretation claim it to be.

You know, you could just email the devs for an answer regarding this instead of just outright saying "Hey, the book ain't clear and is poorly written." Because lets be fair I think it's your responsibility as a GM to find out information about how a game is played before even sitting down with your group.

Which is why I'm on the forums at all, and on top of it I was prettymuch the only person to email about medicae use to a dev member and post it on the forums.

Also regarding this issue, I again, emailed the dev team for an answer.

Stay tuned for an actual answer on this issue regarding what the book was intenteded to say.

For people who want to change the rules, whatever you want. For peeps like Alex who interpret things differently, again, stay tuned.

Though knowing his stubborness on the forums he won't change the rule even if he interpreted it incorrectly.

What does that have to do with stubbornness though? A GM interprets the game world, including the rules, the way he wants to (and his party enjoys it). As a GM I don't owe any responsibility to the official rules nor to any fellow board members.

I owe responsibility to my gaming group and my own "artistic integrity". (Which is why I am not all that interested in the official ruling.)

Alex

I would argue that your responsibility to your gaming group is to tell them the official ruling, then if you disagree with it, tell them what you are doing different. I think this because I have walked into a game I thought I knew how to play, only to find out the GM that taught my group was house-ruling left, right, and center, and not telling us. That made for a bad couple games, until I reallized that I could not trust anything I thought I knew.

Ah, our group functions differently. If I'd stress it, they'd rather be disinterested because in our gaming circle the attitude that it's the GM's job to make the game work and interpret the game world so that it's fun seems to prevail.

Alex

Sorry, I may not have been clear. It's when I changed groups that I ran into problems, as thought I knew how to play the game, having played for over a year. I came off as dishonest and lost a lot of respect from the new group.
