The parry rules state that melee weapons can parry if they say they can but almost all weapons DON'T actually say that they can. usually the opposite is true in that if they can't they explicitly state it. So, since the reductor consists of diamond tipped blades and a mini chainsword and can be used as a limited melee weapon (can't apply your SB to damage), can it parry? i'm making up an NPC apothecary for the party and trying to figure out if i should outfit him with a chainsword for that reason.
can a reductor parry?

All melee weapons can be used for parry unless the have the Unwieldy special. Weapons that have 'Balanced' get +10 to parry.

I would personally say parrying with such is highly innapropriate. Given that it already states that its improper to attack with it, I would imagine any apothecary would rather use their combat knife, over their reductor, to parry.
is it improper? absolutely. it would make the machine god turn over in his sleep for sure... but i think the rules allow it to be possible.
