Psychic power,Focus power test and power levels

By Ignace Zane, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

I ca't understand the malus/bonus of the Focus power test to manifest a power in Fettered, Unfettered and Push level. Are the bonus/malus the same or they chance?

Plus, i can't understand the push mode. Does the psyker only add +3 to his PR or his WP bonus.

Thank you

Right, a Focus Power Test is against the Psyker's Willpower, with a +5 bonus per point of Psy Rating used. When using a power Fettered, you only use half (rounding up) your Psy Rating, but suffer no Psychic Phenomena at all. When using a power Unfettered, you use your full Psy Rating, but suffer Psychic Phenomena if the roll is a double (22, 33, 44, etc). When Pushing a power, add 3 to your Psy Rating (the example is incorrect), but the power always causes Psychic Phenomena.

There are no other modifiers.

"Right, a Focus Power Test is against the Psyker's Willpower, with a +5 bonus per point of effective (that means: modified by power level or Invocation, etc) Psy Rating used."

Just to avoid any potential ambiguity.

Now i have understand how it works.

May the Empereror bless you!

Thank you

Totaly new to this trying to understand...

So a level 3 librarian, psy-rating 5, WP 45, using power on "push" power level needs to roll under 85 to be successful?

45+(5+3)x5 = 85

And a level 1 librarian, psy-rating 3, WP 40, using power on "fettered" power level need to toll under 50 to be successful?

40+2x5=50

am i right?

Yes. The first librarian should beware Perils Of the Warp however. It can be quite nasty quickly.

Just as an addendum, if you have a Psychic Hood, that also adds +5 WP to Focus Power tests .
