Psy powers difficulti?

By Brother Chaplain Magister, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

It might be my mistake - if that is the case I will recite the prayers: Glorius Imperator and Progenitor Primarcha a hundred times a day for no less than a wee k - but can't find the "system" for activating psy powers.

Does it work like in Rogue Trader ? WP+5*Psy rating for focus test (page 157)?

For example: a rank 2 Space Wolf rune priest, with a WP of 48, psy rating of 4, using a Force Stuff will roll against 68 (48+4*5) for the F ocus Power Test ?

If the above is true, and my Rune Priest want's to use a power Fetterd , will he rol against 68 (48+4*5) or have to halve his psy rating and will roll agains 58 (48 + 2*5)? And Pushing a power means he adds the +3 psy rating and then calculates the target number (48+7*5)=83

Sorry if I'm being difficult...

Right, that's how it works. Effective Psy-Rating x 5 as a WP bonus. Invocation and Power Level modify the PR and you use the modified PR for the Focus Power Test. The wording is a bit unclear but I think this interpretation has been confirmed in emails by Ross Watson in the meantime. And yes Pushing is PR+3, not PR+WP-Bonus. Details on page 185.

Also, all psychic tests are +0 I believe, the examples are wrong.

Yes, it's a +0 test. However:

"You may add a bonus to your Focus Power Test equal to 5 times the Psy Rating used for the power."

Well yes, I was just meaning on default difficulty of the test. Like a fettered/unfettered/pushed all have a base difficulty of +0.

Yep, that wasn't entirely clear from the book but it has been confirmed in the meantime to be so. Agreed.

Thanks for sorting things out for me. gran_risa.gif

As you mentioned, Invocation modifies the PR, but only for powers used on Fettered level. Am I right or I'm missing something again.

You're absolutely right.
