Anyone have or can point me to a good source of information about Kemperbad. I plan to begin my campaign here.

The first edition adventure Death on the Reik has a stop over in Kemperbad that describes the town, some of its populace, and provides a map and encounter. Good luck finding a copy of DotR for a reasonable price though.

The only other source I know is "Sigmar's Heirs". It has the basic pop stats etc. and a two paragraph write up on Kemperbad (Death on Reik has about 1 paragraph, the byline on population and sub-communites is same in both except for population, DoR says 3750 and SHeirs says 7500 - though they have same populations in the sub-communities).

I believe you can buy Sigmar's Heirs it as pdf on rpgnow. That's not likely enough to warrant it in this situation but it's a nice general empire background book.

The main description in DotR is that Kemperbad is built on cliff tops on the east side of the bank of the River Reik. The east bank is far higher than the west bank on this section of the river, and the river Stir runs through a deep gorge into the Reik near the town and passes down through a series of locks and weirs to account for the differences in height between the two rivers..

The docks are at river level at the base of the cliffs and you reach Kemperbad itself using either baskets and lifts going up the cliff run by the Dwarven Engineers guild for a fee, or by using the long sprial stair case cut into the rock face!

It then goes on about the town being a free-town and this makes it a good place to buy goods and services, as it provides goods normally only found in a much larger city, because of its location. Things are just as expensive though, even though there are less levels of tax (as its a friestadt), the town council simply increase the amount of tax paid to the town.

The local gang is the Belladonna family, headed up by Luigi Belladonna!
