Well just to think about.There has been no new news of any kind on either site this week. You would think with Christmas just around the corner that we would get some kind of hype to promote holiday sales. Has anyone heard anything on the grapevine.
Any news???
Crickets....
Thats all we are hearing.
Transitions are slooooow to unfold. I’d expect the production hasn’t been hindered all that much, if at all, but promotion is having to be re-thought at the higher level. Who writes the articles, how they get posted, where do presale links go. It’s more than just “here’s a thing!”
Edited by j_man_04I am guessing it won't be until January to perhaps March til we hear about anything new. Each Star Wars game has a few things leaked and or shown:
Squadron packs for Rebels, Empire and Scum(?) in X-Wing
4 Clone War ships for Armada
A few things for Legion
This is probably the best period for them to transition over to AMG for news, releases, and more.
I just hope we still get the "at least 1 wrong thing in the article" when AMG takes over.
they dont want to scare people off holiday purchases, so they'll stay quiet till after christmass.
When Plaid Hat Games transitioned to the Asmodee group, I was a playtester for Ashes. PHG refused to answer anything about the fate of Ashes for around 9 months during the transition. No new products, no "hey just to let you know some behind the scenes stuff going on", no new annoucements, even us playtesters had nothing to do for months.
I imagine it's somewhat the same thing going on with this game. For one corporate reason or another, neither company is allowed to say anything for a long period of time.

One thing that has me hopeful in this situation is this differs from your above scenario in that AMG is already a part of Asmodee vs. being acquired by them separately. The production and distribution side should have little to no effect. Plus we also know that FFG are usually several waves ahead of the most recent release cycle so unless there are major concerns with that pipeline,t hey shouldn't be making too many changes to those products that are likely at a point of getting printed.
But maybe I'm just too much of an optimist.

Something big is comming to x-wing soon, rejoice my friends!
What makes you day that?
Edit: That sounds super cynical, and I didnt mean it that way- just curious if there is any new info besides the leaks about sky-strike/phoenix squadron.

Something nice like a big narrative campaign expansion or another huge ship? Or something... not as nice... like a big reboot?

Honestly, unless the are bald faced liars, there is no reboot coming soon.
They stated that they respect the investments we have made. I believe them.
I was prowling around Crisis Protocol news and stuff last night to get a feel for AMG.
They have painting contests, Game Modes that change the basic rules for a game, Formats that change list building but not the base rules, Battle Realms that allow a pick and ban phase, and Party formats for multiplayer. All of this stuff is more meant for creating play options that exist outside of OP, or at least as FLGS one-offs and alternatives.
They really seem like they try engage on all levels for players, which I never felt FFG did very well. They also seem to feature some level of narrative for Crisis Protocol, which would be an amazing new layer for OP.

I just went to the AMG website. I love the Deadpool figure they're coming out with for CP....so many options worthy of the Merc with a Mouth.

This sounds accurate.
Also, new stuff *is coming*, it just hasn't been announced yet.
Legion just got an announcement of new releases so perhaps X-wing and Armada will follow?

Only if they want to kill the game.
I heard they are releasing an 8' diameter inflatable death star..

I'm sure somone can figure out the correct scale but 8 inches would throw out the 'mostly' accurate scale.
Seriously, I think some sort of immoveable ship should get added to x wing at some point. Like a huge ship that is only allowed to do straights/stops down a players board edge.
Or
A new game mode, destroy an enemy epic ship to win the game, maybe 300 points...

8'=8 foot
8"=8 inches

8' = 8 feet
8" = 8 inches
In any event, since a 1/270 scale ISD is like 20 feet, 8 feet is still way too small.

But this, I think you just inspired me to work on a scenario.

Ha, I thought you'd typo'd an apostrophe instead of speach marks.
My bad. 😅

And at least half a dozen typos.
I play 300-pt games with my father-in-law.
Pretty crazy how it can change the value proposition of some cards. Sloane is way too good. Super busted. Honestly at that size so is Kanan.
Jerry and Tarkin are actually playable too. Swarms are scary as nonsense.
FFG is a hollow husk compared to 3 years ago. Been in decline for years and this year all but killed FFG. Pretty much all the people who made FFG - FFG are gone. Kinda hard for there to be news when there is no one left to write it. God bless corporatism.
We have info from a European distributor about some new squadron pack boxes coming. I imagine we will hear something at some point. The fact Legion just got news gives me hope they’ll still announce at ffg for at least a little bit while they sort through the transition.
