Guardian and pierce

If obi wan uses guardian and the attack pool has pierce, does the pierce still go through obi wan’s guardian? Or because he is immune pierce will the pierce not affect him?

Here's the answer, on page 48 of the RRG, under "Immune: Pierce":

"While a unit with immune: pierce is using the guardian keyword, the attacker cannot use pierce x to cancel block (󲉣) results on defense dice rolled by that unit."

Awesome thank you!

The question I have always had is lets say Obi uses guardian against an attack pool of 4 hits pierce 1. Which unit has pierce affect it?

The original unit being attacked, as Obi-Wan prevents piece from being used on himself.

A better question would be if an attack pool of 4 hits pierce 1 goes against Rex, who has esteemed leader, and a unit of Phase 1's guardians one of those off, how is piece applied? Does the attacker choose?

After the Guardian unit rolls defense dice, the Piercing unit decides how much Pierce to use. Then Rex would roll, and the Piercer could use any left over Pierce value against them. It's the first bullet under Pierce X on page 61 in the RRG.

if a pierce attack is guardianed then the attacker can apply the total value of pierce that the dice pool has to each defense roll, eg.

5 hits Pierce 2 against a squad of Arc Troopers in light cover, Obi-Wan uses Guardian 3

damage is reduced by 1 to 4 becasue of light cover

Obi can take 3 of the hits against himself, he can spend a dodge to apply deflect, so rolls 2 dice after cancelling 1, he is immune to pierce so none of the pierce can be used against him, he rolls 1 block and 1 surge, he takes no damage and does 1 damage back to the attacker.

The other hit get applied to the ARC troopers, there is still 2 pierce left in the attack so it can be applied to the attack if you want (this is optional). if it is applied then ARC troopers would be able to roll 3 defense dice as they have impervious. they roll 3 dice and get 2 blocks, with pierce 2 that reduces it to no blocks so 1 wound is to be applied to the ARC troopers.

This situation has about all of the things that can affect a pierce dice pool that i can think of.
