Part 1: Escape from Watercrest Outpost

The Grand Inquisitor is dead, along with most of the Inquisitorius, but the Fourth Brother is still on the hunt, with the support of the ruthless Task Force 75. This team includes his ace pilot, an ISB analyst turned field officer, ISB doctor and interrogator, and a SCAR squad of elite stormtroopers.

The Inquisitor and task force are relentless. For those who would seek to elude them, much less oppose them, it will take everything they’ve got and more to rise up against the empire and fight back against the tyranny!

Presently, the Inquisitor and Task Force 75 have teamed up with a fire team of death troopers, and are penetrating deeper beneath Watercrest Clinic, assaulting a rebel listening station. Four important rebel operators- including a Kyuzo Pathfinder and his trusty Anooba, a Commando, a Mandalorian Jedi, and a Chiss Slicer- must somehow escape to their extraction point. And the only way out, is up!

They are on the second sublevel when the task force arrives and an explosive charge blows the already damaged lift. The doors do not open, and the operating condition of the lift is unknown, but they hear blaster fire from beyond the lift doors. What they do next is up to them!

For the longest time, Wesk had been on the run from the Imperial Forces. He had fled Phatrong after being ratted out by a Bounty Hunter, he had escaped the various gangs of Tatooine with a newfound companion, and he had just barely slipped out of Imperial reach from Saleucami not long after. At last, he had found a new destination to head towards thanks to Zyi Unx, a contact he met in Saleucami before his departure, who gave him directions and told him to seek out a Melitto by the name of Scarpa Flek.

The very same day of his arrival, one of the Rebel Intelligence officers guided him below into the lower levels of the Rebel station.

Yet, it seemed as if fate would not allow Wesk to lie low for long, regardless of where he ran, for Watercrest Outpost would fall under attack, days after he settled down.

While the Imperial Task Force above continued to fight back against Rebel forces, Wesk found himself in the lower levels, along with his inseparable Anooba. Again, he was forced to think of a way to escape the Imperials. Every day that passed made him feel like the chance of a life of peace and quiet like before was drifting farther and farther away.

He hastily gathered his belongings, hoisting the large duffel bag on one shoulder, while his other shoulder supported the large, cumbersome bowcaster, which he had collected from his home-world the night he fled from it.

<< Come, Argo. We must keep moving. >> He spoke to the Anooba in his native tongue.

He adjusted his war shield atop his head, using it like a wide-brimmed hat, as was a common tradition among his people. Argo, always by his side, seemed quite anxious at the dangerous situation, always attentive and alert to the chaos and panic that occurred around them.

Born during the pacifist age of Mandalore, Charon Kharn was anything but peaceful. Even as a toddler, she had a fairly destructive streak, as well as a penchant to fight anyone that came at her. She would win every fight she would get into, easily. It wasn't until she was 5 years old, that it would be discovered that she was Force Sensitive. When discovered, the Jedi who had come to Mandalore took the child to join the ranks of the many apprentices. Her family allowed this, thinking that it would temper her destructive nature, and teach her control.

For the next five Years, even through the events of the clone wars, she trained in the ways of the Jedi, only becoming a Padawan at the age of ten, when she was deemed ready to go under a master. Her master, Shrassarri Kadeeli, a relatively new Togruta master, didn't believe in the war, and took her to a remote planet to continue her training.

Unbeknownst to the two of them, this would allow them to escape the events of order 66. After the Clone Wars had ended the two remained on the planet in order to hide from the galaxy, fearing whatever it was that caused the mass genocide of the jedi order.

For the next 14 years, Charon would dedicate herself to learning the Juyo dueling style as well as the Steel hand martial arts, in the event that she would be caught without a lightsaber. Believing herself to be incredibly powerful, she asked her master to allow her to leave and refine her skills in true combat.

Master Kadeeli had left the planet many times in the 14 years, and learned of the new galactic empire, as well as the events of order 66, and the outlawing of Jedi. In order to protect Charon, she told her that she was safer on the planet, and forbade her from leaving.

That was until the Empire came. One of the merchants that Master Kadeeli had interacted with suspected her of being a Jedi, and slipped a tracking beacon into her supplies and sold her out to the Empire. In order to protect Charon, she told her to leave and hide somewhere in the outer rim, while she held the inquisitors that had come to the planet off.

Charon protested, and wanted to fight alongside her master, but Kadeeli told her that she wasn't meant to die here, and to become stronger. Charon relented and left, and left for the outer rim, but instead of going to a remote planet, she went to Mandalore, her homeworld.

Charon saw what happened to the world she used to dream of returning to as a fully fledged jedi, and cursed the empire, swearing that she would destroy it so that she could return it to it's former glory. It wasn't long after that that she came into contact with the Rebel Alliance.

Hugo grew up on Gus Talon, a moon of Corellia, under the yoke of Imperial rule. His early years were mostly unremarkable- living on a small mineral farm with his parents and mostly shielded from the darker dealings of the Imperial occupation.

It wasn't until the Empire moved in to claim the rights to the mineral farm after discovering a pocket of rare materials buried deep beneath. As his parents refused things escalated quickly, and his parents were killed in the ensuing struggle causing Hugo to flee the farm. Angry and alone, the boy wandered the countryside until he was taken in by Rebel Sympathizers on a neighboring farm.

Not long after, Hugo's anger and desire for justice led him to be recruited by a Rebel cell. Now with a newfound purpose he devoted himself to striking back against the Empire- forging him from a scared child and into a man of singular purpose. Unable to stand by in the face of injustice, he has on several occasions used his skills rather brazenly against Imperial opposition while counting on his skills as much as his luck to carry him to the next day.

Bonn'Uss was always skilled with tech and had a natural way of keeping himself hidden. This was good because he liked to experiment with droids and finding secrets in any computer system he could.
This got him into trouble one too many times within the Chiss Ascendancy and he had to flee his home lest he bring trouble for his family's firm of taxi drivers.
He took a long range ship out of the Ascendancy and ran straight into an Empire patrol. Before Bonn'Uss could be put to death the Rebel Alliance came to his aid and he pledged himself to their cause seeing it as a way to keep himself safe and to explore his talents.

Bonn'Uss quickly pulls out his tool kit and attempts to put an electrical current through the lift. The anti tamper systems were just too good and he is unable to reroute the energy supply to achieve what he wanted.

"Dang it!" he exclaims, the stress starting to get to him...

While Bonn'Uss is fiddling with the door, Charon, decides to put her bloodlust for imperials on hold for just a moment, and looks for a vent or other service passage that they could use to escape the sublevel, possibly with access to the Elevator shaft, so that they might use it to get out expediently.

With luck, she notices that the conduit tube large enough to accomadate the average humanoid. she holds her hand out and pulls the cover off the tube, and looks inside, "We might be able to escape through here, but these cables are still on, and there ain't any space to turn around once we get in."

She announces as she pulls her head out, "We could shut down the power to make it a bit safer, otherwise we should move fast."

“Kfvshheww.. VmmKrrskkkrrskkkrrskk...”

While the rebels search the level for alternative exit options, the familiar sound of a lightsaber can be heard from the lift, along with the screeching of cutting plasteel. If they stay to watch long enough, they see a red blade penetrate, and begin the arduous process of cutting an opening.

Hugo drops to a knee beside an overturned crate, leveling his blaster rifle at the deteriorating doors.

"We need to drop that elevator now, buy us and the boys downstairs some time..."

The moment the blade penetrates the door, Charon shouts to the others, " We are out of time, if you want to fight an inquisitor with a blaster, be my guest, but we need to go now ," She tells them as she motions to the conduit tube.

While she was all for the fight, being trapped like a womprat was not her idea of a good fight. She wanted to be the last to go in the conduit tube, so she could pull it closed with the force.

Wesk and Argo were sitting ducts by Hugo's side, with the Anooba very visibly on edge as it bared its fangs and growled at the continuously deteriorating doors of the lift. Wesk, trying to keep the Anooba at bay, ran his hand through its fur, whilst also looking around for alternate options. As Charon shouted out, his eyes darted towards her, spotting the conduit tube and figuring out the plan. He nodded in acknowledgement and turned to Hugo.

"We must go now. Crawl through the duct or climb after the lift drops." His speech was somewhat difficult to decipher, as the thick Kyuzo accent of his' messed up some of the pronunciations and jumbled up some of the sound together.

“I’ll cover you The rest of you. Should be able to climb the wire back up- Worst case I can stall em some.” he says as he draws a grenade from his armor webbing, holding it in one hand as he aims down the rifle.

"Ha! Finally," boasts Bonn'Uss as he system works for him and the lift drops down taking the red blade with it. "That should help us! Who wants to go first?"

The slicer was quickly stowing away their gear and considering hoe they were going to climb a cable...

With the elevator dropping down, Charon runs over to the elevator door, and clasps the gap made by the blade coming through, " One of you, get over here and help me pull this door open, " she commands as she starts trying to force the repulsion-lift doors open.

Hugo places the grenade back in its slot, tossing his heavy blaster across his back as he jogs up to the door.

Nodding to Charon he steps besides them, grabbing one side of the doors to assist.

"Sorry guys... I think I've alerted the imps to our presence..."

As Hugo comes to help, Charon sees a blinking button on the computer console. When she realizes that it is the open doors button, she realizes without the lift there it will open. She lets go of the door, and presses the button and waits for the door to open. " It'll take them some time to get the elevator back up, so let's get out of here. "

Hugo nods, stepping to the door‘s opening and cautiously peering down the shaft before looking back to the others.

”Well with any luck we can link back up on the surface. See you all up there.”

Following the chirping of alarms, the lift abruptly drops, taking the flickering red blade and the Imps inside with it. This should buy them some time to enact their escape plans, even if they had alerted the task force to their presence.

Charon jumps into the lift corridor and starts jumping from wall to wall with ease, until she gets to the sub level 1 lift doors. Once in the door way, she crouches down and looks around quickly, just in case the Imps left guards to cover anyone trying to escape.

Seeing Charon take the lift with such ease Bonn'Uss grabs the available ladder and starts the scale as quick as he can hoping he isn't left behind by his colleague.

When I get to a workshop I am building a droid for this...

"Good luck, fellas."
Hugo calls back to the others in the shaft before turning and running towards the access panel and diving within, crawling his way in and up towards the next level.

As Charon and Bonn'Uss went up the shaft, through parkour and a ladder, Wesk quickly stood up from his braced position and spoke to his companion in his native tongue.

<< Argo. Follow me. >> Once he had drawn the attention of his companion, he nodded towards the uncovered duct.

Both scrambled to the ducts that had been previously opened by Charon herself. He stood guard and allowed Hugo and Argo to move in, before hastily picking up the duct's lid to put it back into place from the inside.

After letting Hugo climb up first, Wesk picked up Argo and boosted his companion up. The Anooba did its best to climb up with the help of its two forward legs as well as using its head to push back against the opposite wall to keep itself climbing. Wesk, climbing right after Argo, had to give the canine a couple shoves to keep it climbing, but eventually they made their way up to the 1st Sublevel.

Argo was the first of the two, and it took some effort for the hound to make it up, but with one last push from the Kyuzo, it was back on the first sublevel. Right after it, Wesk came out of the duct with a leap and a couple flips, holding onto his helmet for good measure. He promptly landed and bent his knees to cushion the fall.

Bonn’Uss and Charon climb and parkour their way up the lift’s shaft, the sound of the Inquisitor cutting through the lift car below spurring them on. As they arrive at the 1st sublevel, they hear the clanking of the rough-cut door dropping down the shaft below, and someone climbing through to the 2nd sublevel below them.

It is lit, below, and they recognize Inspector Ostell from her dossier, as she looks up. But for the Inquisitor, who lies mostly outside of any chain of command, it is believed that she is in charge of the Imperial task force. She spies them, at nearly the same moment.
