I am an Imperial player who was playing against my friend who plays rebels. He put offensive push on Cassian so that Cassian would have tactical 2. He would station Cassian on top of a tower in the sniper config and move Cassian like half an inch to get 2 aim tokens which with marksman and pierce is almost a guaranteed damage or 2. I thought this was unfair but when I looked it up the RRG said that you don't have to move the full distance of the movement tool for it to count as a standard move. What are everyones thoughts on this?
Cassian and Offensive Push
It still took an action of moving, and one of (typically) two activations per game of Offensive Push. I don't see a problem here. Your opponent performed a Standard Move with Cassian which does not need to be the full length of the movement tool, so got two aim tokens.
Even with just an Aim action and attack Cassian is averaging 2 damage since the red die has hits on 7/8 sides. Having two aim tokens just guarenteed it. Cover can still help since Cassian is dependent upon the dice rolls for being able to convert both to Crits.

He gains the 2 aim tokens, but cannot use the sniper config if he moved as it has Cumbersome.
Edited by Lemmiwinks86Offensive Push is an exhaust, so he couldn't have done this every turn (even if he wasn't using the sniper config).

My friend failed to tell me that sniper config has cumberosme
He gained the aims during deployment, so cumbersome is no problem during the activation.

Only if Cassian also had Recon Intel. That isn't stated in the original post that I can see.
But yes, if a scout move is done during deployment, then Cassian would get two aim tokens (if Offensive Push is exhausted) and still be able to use Sniper Config on the first activation.
if he moves at all during his activation he cant use a cumbersome weapon in the same turn.
and yeah the only way he could do it is with recon intel, he gains the aim tokens during his recon move, then during his normal activation he can fire the sniper rifle if he doesnt move.

Haha, true. Recon Intel is such an obvious choice for cassian turn 1 shannanigans that I just assumed he scouted into the aims.

Totally agree. It is a good way to get around the cumbersome, and unless/until pre-game tokens stop being a thing, that will be a popular thing for Cassian among others.
