LTD's Australasian Masters

By LTD, in Star Wars: Armada Organized Play

Hello!

As the highest ranked Australian (2nd at two Nationals in a row! And the winner last year was English!) and last winner of an official Regional in New Zealand, I've taken it upon myself to organise our Australasian National Competition - which is to say - people are paying me $10 to pretend to run an online tournament on the off chance that I will send them some kind of prize.

If you are Australian or New Zealander or live in the GMT +8 to +12 timezones, you might be interested in joining our competition. We are playing via TTS despite my preferences for vassal, as we are a surly and recalcitrant breed of humans.

Reply here or PM me for more information. We start on Friday October 2.

We may also have an in-person tournament come November or early December if certain Southerners can get their etc. in order.

How is the tournament going?

LTD is too humble to tell us he's destroying the competition.

@Bertie Wooster is mistaken.

I am not so humble.

We are playing one round a week - currently 3 of the 7 games have been played, with the other four due by midday Friday AEST (NOT AEDT).

Results so far are 10/1, 9/2 and 7/4.

I won my game 9/2 with a last activation of round 6 ram of a Most Wanted Star Hawk. Had I rolled one less hit in the process of the game I would have lost.

On reflection, I should have picked a CR90 as most wanted and aimed for an easier 8/3. Taking out a Star Hawk is too risky - if worth it in the end!

I might end up posting images, but probably not.

So, here's the Round 3 Match Up -(edited)

As a general reminder, we are playing FOUR rounds, with no cut - unless there is a resounding demand for the top four or top eight to play three more rounds with reset scores.

Thanks to all who participated.

Remember that many of the battles are available through the entirely creditable "Fly Casual" youtube channel.

I hope to make a short video of my own to summarise the final battle between myself and Marzaums, which was not streamed.

We may well play another set of games over the impending summer.
