Looking at porting over a Traveller game into Genesys.

The background is that its set within the Spinward Marches that's been isolated from the rest of Solomani space due to a Nanotech Menace that almost wiped out humanity in a series of bitterly fought wars.

At the end of the 13th war the Sol Guard managed to seal off the Spinward Marches saving humanity, but at the cost that in its weakened state an attempt was made to topple the empire that resulted in the Marches being sundered into various states that was left more or less at each others throats until 14 years ago when the Extra Stellar Gates exploded.

These Gates are a network of advanced portals designed to allow mass travel between start systems making jump drives nearly obsolete.

The detonation wiped out a large number of key systems leaving many systems to collapse in the wake and starting a new war that took a decade before it stalled as the various nations took stock of the situation and began trying to recover from this devastating event.

This game revolves around the crew of a lab ship that serves as a base for Van Zeeman Industries who are trying to rebuild their business and establish themselves in these uncertain times.

How does that sound to you?

The story so far is that the PCs are aboard a Mining courier version of the Scout ship performing the last request of its former owner who was the uncle of one PC and a mentor to another PC.

They jumped insystem and notice an Imperial ship jump out after they arrive curiously leaving the system unprotected before a trio of pirate ships attempt to intercept them.

Called by an ally of one PC they head to a safe location to land on one of the ice worlds in this system and exploring discover its home to a graveyard of ships including one owned by relatives of one of the PCs.

Given this ship was supposed to have been lost with all hands on an entirely different world in this system leaving questions as to whether this ally had links to the late mentor and perhaps this request was an intended mission before the mentor was killed?

Investigating they discover a hidden section in the ship revealing a pair of suspension chambers with one holding the cousin of one of the PCs except they've been kept in stasis for so long they're still about 8 whilst the PC who was 3 years younger is now well into his thirties!

Their pursuers land and run into their ally who left a message about a meeting place where some armaments have been left to add to their ship in case there's further problems heading to the system station.

They had just lifted off and were heading to the rendezvous when that session ended.

This was run using Traveller and its been a while, but I can't help thinking this might work with Genesys.

I've made some effort to convert their characters over just need to find information on the talents list as its more Fate where they seem to make them up to fit the profile but I do own the Star Wars FFG core books so have something to refer to.

Is it worth a try?
