Command dials

By Uncrustable, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Can dials be stacked?

Say with thrawns dial and a ships normal revealed dial giving 2x of the same dial?

One of them would have to be taken as a token. So an ISD with repair dial and a Thrawn repair dial for everyone this turn would generate 6 repair points not 8.

If the ship & Thrawn commands are different of course you get the full dial effect for both commands such as 4 repair points and 4 squadron activations.

To add to what Mad Cat commented, there are only 3 ways to resolve a specific command:
-Only dial
-Only token
-Dial + token

There's nothing more than that, so you cannot spend dial + dial of a single command during the same activation.

Thanks!

As a follow up how does the Executor title work with regards to these rules? It can pile up tokens (even multiple of the same token?) But can only use 1 of each type per round?

Also what about Admiral Piett? If you are using a dial and token and Piett is your commander, do you do the command as if you had spent 2x a dial? (So confire would add 2 dice?)

You can only resolve a command with a token once each round, but you can use the tokens in other ways, for example to power a fleet command like Intensify Firepower!

Piett only comes into play if you are only using a token to resolve a command. So, no, you can’t get the effect of a “double dial” (as noted above, you never can get the effect of a double dial in Armada even if you somehow have it (like Thrawn)).

Piett card says when a ship spends only a token to resolve a command, so no. For con fire to add two dice you would need the Ravager title.

Executor can only spend a token to do a command once but discarding a token is not the same as doing a command. Many of the coming clone wars upgrades can be unexhausted with tokens. Also Lira Wessex for example could spend several repair tokens per turn keeping face up cards face down.
