Descent dice flawed or just unlucky?

With all the pics in games groups of cats sitting on games/games tables or in game boxes maybe the answer is to get a cat involved for more randomness :)

I bought a bunch of these many many years ago for 40K. Precision backgammon dice are normal D6 size (not giants like casino dice), have rounded corners, but are precision made for perfect balance. You can make a simple chart for which side of the die correlates to what side of any color Descent die. I only have a chart for the blue die because missing more often than is statistically probable is ******* annoying, the rest of the colored dice we don't care about balance.

Cheap dice rolling poorly is such a thing that I had players after a game or two refuse to play me in 40K anymore unless I used garbage dice, because they felt my Terminator heavy army was unfairly advantaged by not using cheap dice that rolled 1's more often than they should. Offering to let them use my dice didn't help, as their horde armies didn't much care about 1's coming up more often.

Those are min $22.50 for what is a pair of dice, and you are playing 40k with them? How much did you spend on dice?

Of course, its 40k; if you haven't had to mortgage the house to play, you're not trying hard enough.

I bought 12 pair.

This should be the new thing for anything that goes wrong with life: not my fault, the dice ain't right

I haven't been on this forum for the last few years.

I immediately run into this topic and find joy in the weird and flagrant nerdiness...

good times, good times...
