Thematically, yes, it would be pretty cool, but I can't really think of how they'd be used in the table top. I'm not familiar enough with the observation tokens to make much of a judgement.

I would love to have one if only for the model itself cause I think it would be cool. The imperial Probe Droid is about the size of a person, though, so it couldn't be as small as the Sith probes

No one knows how the observation tokens work yet, it just seems that given they are being used for Sith and CIS probe droids they might be something an Imperial probe droid might make use of. Also, as to the Imperial Probe Droids being about the size of a person, everything on small bases is the size of a person or smaller. I'm not sure how it's relevant.

The Rebel AND Empire characters need to be Force users otherwise Offensive stance (or any new Force upgrades) would be included in unit boxes that can't use them, or the players need to buy units not in faction to get the upgrades.

Nah I think FFG just release upgrade card pack vol II - with Jar Jar on cover. Christmas? Maybe Q1 2021? Or just print card from some site till that happends.

They don't have enough upgrade cards that people won't have to justify that, unless they are changing the sizes of the cards like Armada.

Im guessing Inquisitor (of some kind) and either Cal Cestis or Ezra Bridger.

or better yet they could release jar jar dark lord of the sith with all the upgrade cards. and he could work for both GAR and empire.

I imagine it works like cadbane tokens. you place a bunch of observation tokens on the battlefield and when an enemy unit move within range 1 of one you flip them face up. and either a probe droid appears there or it doesnt.

i dont really see how something like that would help empire though. having a bunch of weak units randomly appear on the board doesnt seem to be at all what empire needs. empire needs the exact opposite: a strong unit that doesnt appear randomly.

what empire needs are heavy weapon specialists or dark troopers. a whole unit with heavy weapons or a droid loaded with heavy weapons.

Sounds like a job for BT-1 and 0-0-0 ;)

Empire also needs somethong mechanical to make Del feel less awkward.

Don’t give them any terrible ideas...

Yeah Bothans could be the "no one asked for" unit maybe?

I would love to see some ATPT too tho, loved them in Rogue Squadron, Galactic Battlegrounds and in EU.

Has LUCASFILM canonized their appearance yet? The old appearance was removes as being a bothan from all other media, so I highly doubt they will show up in legion.

If I were to go off what was given as hints and just go full wish list these are the two I'd want.

Rebels - Phoenix Squadron - It comes with Kanan, Hera, Erza, Zeb and Chopper. You have the option to run them in 3 ways.

1. A 3 man Special Forces Squad, that uses upgrade card versions of the characters, and you select which one is the unit leader or have some kind of rank system so the highest ranking character of the squad is default the leader when run this way. They even throw in a Sabine Wren upgrade card so she can retroactively be used this way as well.

2. Operatives/Commanders. Similar to the Rebel/Imperial Officer, they come with the upgrade card version of them, as well as a full unit card for each character. So you can run them as more powerful versions of themselves as either Operatives or Commanders, probably only Hera getting the Commander choice.

3. Upgrades in regular Rebel Troopers as Heavy Weapons with the Leader keyword. You can use every member of the squad, including Sabine as just a regular upgrade to a normal Trooper Squad, a possible way to get them all on the table.

Empire - Imperial Inquisitors - It comes with 5 named Inquisitors, the main ones in this set being The Grand Inquisitor and The Seventh Sister. They also come with three options to run them like Phoenix, and come as upgrades or full units for each Inquisitor, the Grand Inquisitor probably being the only one who can be taken as a Commander.

Do I think this is what it is, or that if they did these units they'd do it in this way? **** no, but its fun to think about. However they'd get far more mileage out of releasing the Phoenix members 1 by 1 with an Imperial Counterpart, but if they did that and they were all Operatives/Commanders it would be impossible to field the whole squad.

"Terrible" is subjective. From the prospective of producing card sleeves and cards, reducing the number of sizes used in their games is a good idea. Fewer SKUs to produce (card sleeves), and people that want consistent card sizes end up spending more money.

touche, yesterday was a long day alright and my brain doesn't work well at the best of times! 🙃

I've been calling for Purge Troopers for a little while, and I think that if you made a squad of Purge Troopers with two or three Inquisitors as optional takes for the squad it would fit thematically. I feel like if you made them all Inquisitors it would just be more expensive Royal Guard (better, to be sure, but play wise very similar. They already don't get any real use as far as I've seen.)

I do love the idea of having both Inquisitors and Pheonix Squad in the game though, that's a good call!

Thanks, I like the idea because the follow up CW faction packs could be a collection of known Jedi who aren't quite as powerful. Your Luminara, Shaak Ti, Baris, Eeth Koth etc.... Harder to do for the CIS though, but they might be able to do maybe a bounty hunter pack, with some of the bounty hunters from the CW era.

Yeah! It would be pretty cool to get some of the CIS Bounty Hunters in so folks like Embo, Dengar, or even Moralo Eval.

Personally I'm not a fan of the imperial inquisators, I really don't like the goofy spinning lightsabers. I'd really like to see the imperials get a generic stormtrooper commander, but I know that's not very likely.

I like that idea. How I would like them to do it would be similar to ARCs/ISF: have named Inquisitors as the heavy weapons, but rather than let them be taken in Corps units, I would like to see them included as Operatives as well, but likely with no Command Cards.

Lol then I got some bad news for you. Empire is going to be getting crap ton of helicopter lightsabers. Will be interesting if they ever do a bounty huner again for Empire now that they got so many Empire loyal options? The only thing that may stop that is that Empire would mirror GAR even more if they just keep adding force users...................... Of coruse FFG sort of likes to mirror Legion factions.

With at least 10 inquisitors they have a lot of wiggle room to throw them everywhere in the faction. Going thought the list of members it is pretty crazy that a lot of them get a decent amount of screen time/development across canon. And throw on top most of them look different from each other.

Yeah, they'd probably be Special Forces (for Purge Troopers) and Operatives for main inquisitors. I like the idea of having Second Sister as an operative with Retinue/Entourage (Purge Troopers)

Then you could also bring in the Grand Inquisitor as a Commander to make it synergize on all levels. I feel like GAR could do a similar thing with regular Jedi and have generic Knights and such to command.

at least an inquisitior with a helicopter lightsaber will be speed 2...

actually im sure theyll find a way to make him speed 1 now

No way, if he has a helicopter, he should be as fast as the Mandos, so Speed 3 with Jump 2

So do we have a rough schedule or at least some timetable for announcements?

Anakin and Maul come out in November?

Specialist/leader packs for clones and droids in January?

We don't know anything else for sure right. Maybe announcements in November or December for the Rebel and Imperial stuff and release in Feb(April)

If some rumors are true Ani and Maul are releasing on Nov 20th.

Currently Rebels and Empire have no announced releases, I think we will either hear something next month in October or around when Ani and Maul release.
